A migration and a rebuild: from a rented CMS to an owned platform, without losing the data.
The problem
The original site ran on a Node + Postgres CMS that made SEO work slow and hosting expensive, and quote data was being matched by ticker alone — which silently shows one company's price under another company's name when tickers collide.
What we built
We ported the platform to Laravel with SQLite, then rebuilt the quote pipeline to verify company name as well as ticker before accepting a price. Earnings data comes from free SEC XBRL filings rather than a paid API.
Where it landed
An owned platform with 356 ETFs, per-stock pages generated from real holdings, 45 world markets, linked structured data, and a Quora-style research desk with real moderation instead of fabricated personas.
